The Rigó Jancsi is a classic, traditional Hungarian dessert you can now prepare at home!
Rigó Jancsi – Hungarian Chocolate Sponge Cake recipe: First, separate the egg whites and yolks, whip the whites with half the sugar until thick.
Beat yolks until foamy with the rest of the sugar.
Add flour and cocoa powder. If it’s too thick, you can add some whipped cream.
Carefully add whipped cream to the chocolate mixture.
Spread the mixture in a buttered, floured pan and bake at 370 degrees F for about 10 minutes.
If you’re making circle shaped cakes, cut 6 circles.
Combine whipped cream with cocoa powder.
Add sponge cake at the bottom of the form, followed by chocolate whipped cream.
The next layer is the white whipped cream. Finish the line with another sponge cake.
Remove from the forms and cover the top with melted chocolate.
