Rise yeast in milk and sugar.

Combine risen yeast, salt, eggs, sour cream, butter/margarine and powdered sugar for the dough.

Let the dough rest while you prepare the filling.

Whip egg whites with vanilla and powdered sugar.

Add grated lemon zest and ground walnuts.

Flatten the dough on a slightly floured surface.

Place cherries on the sides.

Roll up the dough, leave a gap in the middle.

Spread the walnut filling in the middle and brush the dough’s side with egg.

Preheat the oven to 320 degrees F and bake until golden.
