The Stuffed peppers is a Hungarian specialty! Distinctive dish, spectacular taste!
Have all your ingredients ready and let’s begin! First, toast onions in oil.
Combine toasted onions, minced meat, rice, eggs, garlic and spices. Knead thorough.
Wash the peppers, remove and discard the tops, seeds and membranes. Fill with meat filling. It’s important to not use too much or too little, or it’ll crack. Make meatballs from the leftover filling.
Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add peppers and meatballs.
Heat the lard in a smaller pan, combine with flour and cook until brown.
Add the water we used to cook the peppers.
Add tomato puree and salt to taste.
Add chopped onions to the sauce and cook for half an hour.
When the sauce is ready, bathe the paprikas and meatballs in it.
